I really enjoyed the balanced, no-nonsense approach that Cathy takes towards dieting and exercise in this book. (And after having 5 kids, she’s still rocking a six-pack!) One thing which I really like is Cathy's balanced approach to eating and exercise. She walks you through the essentials of nutrition, metabolism, mental focus, and how to work with what you have to create a sensible diet and exercise plan that will work in your life. I also like how she works on creating a balance of cardio and strength training, employing three stage process that gradually increases the level of exercise you are doing at a vigorous but manageable pace. This book will get you hot and sweaty and most importantly, off of your couch. You can also employ these techniques without buying expensive equipment, or any equipment at all. In short, a great read and a wonderful approach to losing weight that anyone can work into their lives. Highly recommended!Product details

This book comes right on time for the Spring and Summer. There is no more prevalent dilemma that obesity in our society. Cathy Wilson, the author, has done a masterful job of providing a concise plan to losing weight but in a manner that can be followed by anyone. I believe the most important aspect that struck me was how the plan was not insulting to anyone who might be trying to lose weight. "30 Day Shred Diet Concept Introductory Fast Weight Loss Diet Book Toward..." should find itself in gyms and eager hands this summer
Nothing new and it still all comes down to a person's mind set. Are they ready to diet.
I like the authors straight forward and practical approach. The book has lots of great info I found to be true and useful. I would recommend it to anyone serious about weight loss via a life style change.
I'm always interested in diets. I really like this book because it's a mix of exercise and healthy eating, explained in nicely organized chapters which are also fun to read. A must have for this spring.
This is a good introductory guide to those who are looking for motivation to improve their health. While the title is 30 days the book wisely points out that you cannot just do something for a specific period of time and just stop. If you want to lose weight and tone up you cannot rely on any fad diet. You must make lifestyle changes. For those looking for guidance on that this is a good starting point.
This book is full of very helpful information, tips and myth busters. Chalk full of facts that will help to guide the reader through out his/her program. Some people may want to lose more than more than 20 or 30 pounds and this is a very effective way of reaching their goal. I agree with the author. it is important to have set set your goals and milestones before you start otherwise you may find yourself floundering and revert back to your old lifestyle and eating habits. Think of it as a quality improvement program. Take little steps and try different exercises and foods to determine what works best for you.
I'm on to day 4 of the Shred diet and have started to notice my skin feeling tighter, not to mention a lot more energy. The chapter on debunking fitness and nutritional myths is a must-read. You will see great results just by applying those principles, as we know that most of the information in the fitness and nutrition world have been created by marketers, so it's good to have some of these myths clarified. Thanks Cathy. I recommend you check out this book if you want to learn the right way to lose weight and keep it off
