I was thrilled when my husband found this. My grandfather was in this unit, and we used this book to go to actual sites he had been at in France. It is that specific and also has great maps. Very well written by two members of the unit right after the war (using their journals and notes). Even includes some humorous incidents. I really got a feeling of what it was like to be in this unit from bootcamp to returning home.Product details

I found this book to be a great help in my research into my Grandfather's Army career. It is an easy read and tells day by day where he was and what was happening. It follows the information that I already have from his letters home perfectly.
This is about the infantry division that my grandfather served with in WW I. I'm awed that someone would take the time to write this down to help the posterity of the men who served in that war know what their grandfathers and great-grandfathers experienced. My grandfather never spoke much about his WW I service except to say that he was able to sleep while marching.
